Lecture 6:
APPLICATIONS OF IMAGINATION
Adam Blatner
This is the sixth and last in a series on Imagination
Development given to the Senior University Georgetown in the
Fall of 2014.
Okay, so what? So it
turns out that if you exercise imagination you can make it work
for you. Really that is what accounts for almost all of the
creativity in technology and the arts that we've enjoyed in the
last many centuries. Some imaginative constructions have gone
into cults and foolish schemes, admittedly, and much imagination
has gone into feeling so righteous that it has justified killing
and doing major damage to perceived enemies and many who were
innocently associated with them.
I'm suggesting that imagination can be redeemed, molded, worked
with. The first idea to integrate is that you can take control
over what has formerly been either suppressed by grown-ups and
society, or used to change your shopping and work hapits through
advertising and propaganda.
